September Calendar

Welcome to September.  School had started and the nights are getting cooler while the days are still HOT!  Here are our Pack plans for September.

Thur. Sept. 8th, Round Table Leader Training @ 7:00 PM at the Central Stake Center.  This is an opportunity to learn things to help us with our dens and pack.

Tues. September 20th, at 7:00 PM is Pack Meeting.  While the boys are learning about fire safety, we will be holding a Parents Meeting.  This meeting will give the Den Leaders a chance to let the Parents know what the plans are for this year and what will be expected of the parents and the Cubs.  We would greatly appreciate it if each boy in our Pack had at least one parent in attendance for this meeting.

We will be handing out a years calendar for Round Table and Pack Meetings.  We will let you know of any changes, as soon as we have info about any changes.  That is what this blog is all about, letting you know on the pack level, what is happening, when and where.

We would like to say:  WELCOME!!!! to Barbie Jones who is the new Assistant Webelos Den Leader.  Barbie is excited and a little nervous.  Please extent a big welcome to her.

Hope to see you all at Pack Meeting!

August Calendar

Say good bye to the soggy month of July and hello to August!  We are so glad to have you and your son involved in Cub Scouting.
Welcome, welcome to our two new Wolf Den Leaders:  Krissy Shields and Wendy Knight.

Round Table for Adult Cub Scout Leaders. We learn good ways to help put on the Cub Scout Program for our boys, we expect the Adult Cub Scout leaders to attend.  Thursday, August 11th, 7:00 PM at the Central Stake Center.

Pack Meeting: Tuesday, Aug. 16th at 6:30 PM.  We will be having a family BBQ at the pavilion out behind the church.  Here are the food assignments:
Each Wolf family bring a salad to share.
Each Bear Family will bring a dessert to share.
Each Webelos family will bring a bag of chips to share.

As you bring your contribution, be aware that this BBQ usually has 70+ people in attendance.

The Pack will provide:  Hot dogs, buns and condiments.  Our budget was cut drastically this year so we can't afford hamburgers.  I found some good quality, tasty, and not so expensive hot dogs and buns that fit in our new budget.  We are excited to let boys who need to "cook" something to pass a requirement, to be chiefs and cook the hot dogs on a grill, for the rest of us.  We will provide paper goods and water to drink.

Everyone had a great time at Cub Scout Day Camp.  We will look forward to that next summer.  If I go next year we will have pictures.

Have a great Month in Scouting!

July's Calendar

Welcome to July.

There is no Round Table this month.  We never have Round Table in July.

Pack Meeting is July 19, at 7:00 PM at Cub Master Devey's house.  It will be a flag retiring ceremony.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Because of a downpour, Cub Scout Day Camp has been rescheduled for Mon. July 18th.  Same plans, etc as last time.  We will pray for clear skies this time.

I am still on pretty strong pain killers and I am not allowed to drive yet, so for me, this month is a wash.  Hope to see you all in August.

June Calendar

Welcome to June and hopefully a warmer month!
Thur. June 9th, Cub Scout Leader Round Table, 7:00 PM at the Stake Center

Tues. June 21,  Pack Meeting 7:00 PM at the Church, we have some great activities planned for this one.

Thurs. June 30th, both Cub Scout and Webelos Day Camps. Look at the older blogs for more info.  Make sure your boys health form and permission slip is in to his Cub Scout Den leaders. If you contacted me  your boy is on the going list.  Check out one of the older blogs to see what the schedule will be.  It will be lots of fun for the boys.

On Monday, June 6th, I will be going in and having my right knee replaced.  So for the month of June and most of July I will be out of commission.  Contact Lori Mc Graw if you have any questions.

Scout Yard Sale

Cub Scout Families,

On Sat. June 11th, from 8 AM to 2 PM there will be a Scout Yard Sale! It will be located on the corner of 700 North and Riverwalk. We would appreciate your help in two ways. #1- make a contribution to the yard sale itself, and #2 come and see if there is something there that will help out you and your family.

Our Cub Scout Day camp was paid for out of the Scout funds, so we would appreciate any help you could give to help them earn enough money for their week long camp.

I appreciate all you do for Scouting.

May Pack Meeting

We held Pack Meeting, only no one held my camera and recorded the event with pictures.  We had one Cub earn his Wolf badge and several others earn belt loops.

We played games with jump ropes, orange slices, paper plates, yarn balls and shoes!  It was lots of fun!  Sorry about the lack of pictures.

  • 11:15 - 12:50 – Sessions 5-6
  • 1:00 - 1:15 – Closing Ceremony
Webelos

Program A

BB Gun Buccaneers
Archery Adventures
Sling Shots / Citizen Activity Badge
Forester Activity Badge
Cosmic Catapults (Engineering Activity Badge)

Daily Schedule

    2:30-3:00 Check-in
  • 3:00–3:15 Opening Ceremony
  • 3:20-5:15 Sessions 1 - 3
  • 5:20-6:00 Dinner/Catapult Competition
  • 6:05-7:20 Sessions 4-5
  • 7:25-7:45 Closing Ceremony
Since the Wolves and Bears have to be there to check in at 7:15-7:45 and the location is 45 minutes away on a freeway that is not under construction.  They will need to leave no later than 6:30 AM and the boys will need to bring a lunch, which will be stored in an ice chest.  We would prefer a class B uniform (a t-shirt with a cub scout emblem on it) rather than their regular uniform.  Past experience has taught  that neckerchiefs, slides, patches, badges, etc, tend to disappear  from uniforms while at day camp. (Yes, it's that much fun).

Webelos will need to leave at 1:30 PM to get to Day Camp on time. The lunch and uniform requirements apply to them also.
If you have any questions, contact me or your Cub's Den Leader.
